It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our friend Milt Ploghoft. Milt passed away last week. Milt was one of our founding members and was the first to sign the membership book in 1958. Our hearts are with Phil and Milt’s entire family during this difficult time. Details about a celebration of life will be forthcoming as plans are finalized.
Thanks to Rev. Don Rollins for this past sunday’s service which called for flexibility as we spent time sharing, singing and reflecting on the many joys and sorrows present in our community. UUFA Annual Meeting Recap

Many thanks to Pat Gordon, Brian Richards and all members for your participation in sunday’s annual meeting. We accomplished a great deal including approving a proposed annual operating budget of $37,000 and we’ve received 19 of 32 total pledge units totaling $24,000. We approved passage of an amendment to our by-laws requiring that to become a member one only need to make an identifiable cash contribution and must sign the membership book. We elected the slate of fantastic leaders and many thanks to all who have agreed to serve UUFA in a leadership capacity beginning July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019.
Welcome elected leaders: Brian Richards (President-Elect, will become President of the Congregation on July 1, 2018), Katie Evans (At-Large Exec Committee) and Susan Westenbarger (At-Large Exec Committee) , Jackie Warmke (Committee on Ministry), Jeremy Bowman (Committee on Ministry) and Don Shamblin (Endowment committee).
The UUA proposed 8th principle:
A key part of our annual meeting discussion centered around the 8th principle that UU congregations across the nation are being asked to affirm. We agreed to table the discussion until members can become more familiar with the request from Black Lives UU.
The 8th principle is as follows:
“We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”

Sunday Service – Sunday, April 15 – 11:00 am , Join us for ” Autism: Facts, Myths, Legends” Amber May will lead us in an exploration of how false studies, myths and legends have created misconceptions that persist in our society. Please join us for service beginning at 11:00am with coffee and tea beginning at 10:30 am.
Sunday, April 10th – Children’s RE Presents: “Viking Party” as a wrap up to 3 Sundays focused on Viking culture.
