I wil also talk about surprising history of the mermaid in Christianity, and how taking a close look at stories about mermaids and Jesus can help us break down ideologies that elevate certain identities above others. A House for Awakening; Not a Caravan of Despair
This is one of those times when many are questioning the words of Martin Luther King, Jr, who famously said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” This week, we will explore the importance of agency, wisdom, and courage on the part of those who are seeking to promote a society that embodies Unitarian Universalism’s core values: Love, Justice, Equity, Transcendence, Pluralism, Interdependence, and Generosity.
Pete Mather will be offering the message, and will be joined by Wendy McVicker, the former Poet Laureate of Athens, Ohio.
