Hospice Looking for Volunteers

OhioHealth Hospice (formerly Appalachian Community Hospice) is looking for volunteers!  Do you have a compassionate heart, a level head and two-three hours a week to spend with someone who is terminally ill?  Please come to a drop-in information gathering on Wednesday, August 17, from 1-2:30 p.m. to learn more about this opportunity.  Hospice volunteers in the field provide companionship and respite care so that family members and caregivers can have some time to refresh themselves.  A full training and orientation, including shadowing current volunteers, is provided to all volunteers.  The information meeting will be held at the OhioHealth Hospice office, 444 West Union, Suite C, in Athens.  Please call Christie at 740-331-7043 for more details.
