November 2 –     We Remember Them

Honoring of our Beloved Deceased By Christine Robinson

“At this darkening time of the year, our thoughts turn to things past, to life retreating, to those who are no longer with us. Images come to our minds; of dear companions, who once graced our lives, loved ones whom we miss, persons whose lives made an impact on our lives; of all those who were here, contributing, caring, and are now gone.

Our memories bring both joy and sadness; let us not push these feelings away. For our recollections attest to the enduring importance of these friends, this love, our memories.

May these brave and lovely spirits live again in our tender thoughts, and prove that death and distance are powerless to sever the bonds that connect truly loving hearts.”

Sunday, November 2nd is our annual “Remember Them” service.  Join us as we gather to remember, share stories,  and honor our loved ones who have passed on. Service leader Roberta

.November 9 1st Annual Chili Showcase w/ Lish Greiner.  Join us for our Chili Showcase Service: Many Ingredients, One Pot — a celebration of the beautiful diversity within our congregation. Like a good chili, our community is made up of many unique ingredients that come together to create something rich, comforting, and full of flavor. We’ll reflect on connection, individuality, and belonging — and afterward, share in a chili meal together! Please bring a pot of chili (any style — meat, vegetarian, vegan, or unique twist) to add to our communal table.

November 16Generosity with Pete Mather & Richard Thieret

On Sunday, November 16, we will explore the spiritual practice and Unitarian Universalist value of Generosity. This isn’t just about money; it’s about a fundamental openness of heart, spirit, and presence that enriches our lives and the world around us. Through stories and shared reflection, we will explore how sharing our time, talent, and resources builds beloved community and puts our faith into action in meaningful and tangible ways.

November 23 – Celebrating National Adoption Month

Join us on Sunday, November 23 as we honor National Adoption Month through the lens of our Unitarian Universalist values, particularly the inherent worth and dignity of every person and the interdependent web of all existence.
We will explore the complex beauty of chosen and created families, reflecting on the journeys of adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families. This service will celebrate the love, courage, and transformation found in the adoption constellation while acknowledging the difficult questions of identity, loss, and justice that are often part of the story.
All are welcome to share in this candid and compassionate exploration of what it truly means to build a family.

December 21 -.  Winter Solstice/Yule: Preparing for the return of the SUN Please join us this Sunday for service as we pause as the solar calendar foretells. We will mark this moment in time by creating symbols of light to see us through the coming winter nights. We will use natural materials (mostly) and folks will be encouraged to create their own Yule Log. We will learn about the materials that we are using to represent our creations. Each person will be able to give their own intentions for peace, love and light or perhaps whatever you’d like to symbolically leave behind in this year!  Blessed Yule to all.

Building Updates and BIG Thanks

If you’ve been in and around the Fellowship this past month you’ve must have noticed the work being done in and around the building.  Many thanks to Fred Snell and Richard Thieret for the upgrades.  Fred and Assistants have repaired the soffet on the building, have begun the removal of the sycamore in the back yard and applied new treatment on the deck. These repairs and continued maintenance keep our building running. The sycamore tree is threatening to our building and that is the reason that it must come down.  Please give Fred a high five , kudos or other celebratory greeting when you see him next. Thanks Fred.
