UUFA RE Update – The RE Committee met on November 12th with Jé Hooper, Brian Richards, and Wenda Sheard in attendance. Other parents had sent regrets. Jé Hooper requested a bulletin board about 3’x4′ so the children can hang their work on the wall. Does anyone happen to have a bulletin board to donate? If not, we’ll buy a new one before January.
We’re continuing work on our UUFA safety policy, on publicity and curriculum for January and beyond, and on coordinating the children’s program with the programming committee. We are also exploring adult RE possibilities, including a “Heart and Soul” proposal by Jé, and a Climate Reality evening by Wenda.
We are grateful to everyone in the fellowship who has participated in our recent successes, including a beautiful downstairs space, the hiring of Jé Hooper and Maggie Moreda, and the recruitment of more children into the program.
Note: this coming Sunday, November 19th, is our last official RE children’s programming of the year.
Why, you ask? Because the rest of the Sundays of the year are either holidays or intergenerational programs when the children will be upstairs with us. We thank Mary Bracey for donating a pile of clipboards and a dozen baggies of crayons for amusing children during intergenerational services.
Emergence ; The Sacred Feminine Dances Once More – Coming in February 2018 !- Saturday, February, 17, 2018 –7:00 pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 – 2:00 pm Arts West 132 W. State St, Athens, OH . Follow one woman’s journey away from the cultural messages that happiness is achieved outside herself through materials things, consuming and through other people. Trapped by feelings of doubt, inadequacy and helplessness, the woman is forced to go within herself to seek solitude and reconnect with her sacredness. She receives many lessons and bears witness to others, both women and men struggling with their personal journeys. The lessons received help her dance her own dance and stand in her own power. If interested in being a part of this performance please contact Megan Cameron at: email@example.com or if interested in dancing contact Missy Whaley at firstname.lastname@example.org – UUFA is a co-sponsor of this event and will provide our fellowship hall as a practice space !
