Reflections on the Meanings and Myriad Implications of “Mothers Day”

As we face what could prove to be the final days of American-style democracy as we know it, let us consider the words of Unitarian Julia Ward Howe and her original objective in seeking to declare an “Appeal to womanhood throughout the world”, and the original objective of what came to be known as her “Mother’s Day Proclamation”.  As Howe suggested over 150 years ago, could it be that mothers are “our last best hope” to transcend those behind the malevolence manifested by the evolution of Project 2025. We welcome  Jessie Roberson as our service leader.
