Earth Day & Local Ecology

(NOTE 10:30am TIME)
SUNDAY, APRIL 19th, 10:30am
“Earth Day 2020: Swimming to the Other Side” by Rev. Don Rollins, via YouTube, with his Hendersonville, North Carolina congregation.
As we mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Don will make the case for local ecology. Be thinking of a place, near or far, past or present, that you’ve tended – a place where your relationship with the Earth is strongest. The service will “premiere” at 10:30am on the Hendersonville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship YouTube site, located herehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3FbJxtIr3N_sNQoc1a1Oiw

Want another Wednesday UUFA Zoom “CHECK IN” opportunity?
Contact Wenda or Susan if you’re willing to participate in a Zoom check-in. We enjoyed seeing each others’ faces last week, and will certainly do it again if there’s interest. Zoom allows for video, and also allows for you to appear by telephone by calling a telephone number. Easy! Join us!

UPDATES FROM THE UUFA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Greetings Dear Fellowship Friends,

Thank you for completing the survey sent out regarding changes in fellowship operating procedure during the COVID-19 pandemic. The vote was unanimous to support the executive committee moving forward with the following:

1. To authorize the Executive Committee to extend the current terms of those serving in elected positions until we can meet together again safely in person.
2.  To authorize the Exec Committee to create and propose to you via email an alternative means of holding a business meeting and/or election should they deem it necessary to come up with an alternative to having a face-to-face meeting.
Please be aware that the executive committee has been meeting on a bi-weekly basis via Zoom to touch base and connect with one another around fellowship concerns. We will keep you updated on items discussed.
Please contact me if you’d like to attend, have an idea or a concern;  barbunday@gmail.com  OR  740-707-6197.
Be well dear friends,
Barbara Harrison
President UUFA

THANK YOU, FRED & RICHARD!
Fred and Richard had great fun cutting down the tree that Diana discovered fallen in our grove. The tree was resting at an angle on John Spofforth’s 1986 brick sculpture “The Window,” which is the focal point of our grove. Here’s a photo of Richard (photographer) and Fred (high up in tree) practicing social distancing in the vertical sense.

NEW WAY TO PAY YOUR PLEDGES (THANK YOU).

by Patrick Gordon

Most of you by now should have received information about Tithe.ly, our new online option for making and receiving  donations and  pledge contributions to the UUFA.

Tithe.ly is a well established product in use by over 13,000 congregations globally. Using this new method of contribution allows you for the first time to utilize credit and debit cards. Best of all it integrates with our current Elvanto software.

There are three ways to use Tithe.ly:

1. On the internet go to https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give. Here you can set up an account that you can use to give.

2. You can text the word ‘give’ to (844) 669-5173 which is a dedicated phone number for the UUFA alone.

3. There is also a free Tithe.ly App available for both Android and Apple that you can download and use.

So even though we cannot be together and pass the basket on Sunday we can continue to support the Fellowship as possible in a way that is easy to use.

As always remember  you can always send your checks to PO Box 333, Athens, OH 45701.
