SUNDAY August 11, 2019 – POTLUCK & “Mike & Freddie & Me” Five years after the extrajudicial murders of Mike Brown and Freddie Gray, UUFA member Susan Westenbarger will explore the ramifications of their deaths at the hands of those pledged to “protect and serve” and how today’s Movement for Black Lives resonates within Unitarian Universalism. This week’s SPECIAL FOR CHILDREN: This Sunday will be decorating paper bag “UU Principle” PUPPETS! with colorful craft items. All puppets will begin with names or concepts from our UU Principles. Children will choose to decorate and adopt puppets with names such as Julia Justice, Ryan Respect, Daniel Dignity, Parker Peace, Lillian Liberty, Victoria Voting, Serenity Searching, and Noah Nature. Newcomers always welcome. Adults helpers welcome, too!
This Sunday: A Visit from Vivian Dunbar! – Longtime UUFA member Vivian Dunbar will be visiting UUFA on Sunday, August 11st. Vivian and her late husband Jean-Clare, pictured here together at Athens Uncorked during a prior visit, left Athens a few years before that to be closer to family in Oregon. We look forward to welcoming Vivian back this Sunday.
