Beans & Cornbread POTLUCK! 11:30am Sunday

THIS SUNDAY AUGUST 28th, INSTEAD OF A SERVICE, WE’RE HAVING AN OUTDOOR LUNCHEON (weather permitting) with ALYSSA & ROBERT

Two of our newest members, Robert and Alyssa, will be bringing our UUFA kitchen to life again on Sunday August 28th for an 11:30am OUTDOOR LUNCHEON with beans and cornbread and whatever side dishes y’all bring. Yes, it’s a POTLUCK as well as our “beans and cornbread” special menu item.

This is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY for newcomers to meet others in a relaxed environment. Children welcome!  We’ll be setting up tables on the side of the building near the playground equipment.

Members & friends…you’re welcome to show up at 11am to help set up, and socialize. Help on the clean-up end welcome, too. Thanks to all who already signed up to set-up or clean-up.

MASK NOTES: Our board is still requiring KN95 or N95 masks (NO FABRIC MASKS, and no surgical masks, either) of folks entering the building for Sunday services, to help in the kitchen, or to use the restroom. We have many folks who truly appreciate us taking this extra step for the safety of the most vulnerable among us.

Zoom note: There will be no Zoom for this potluck.

GREENSHEET NOTE:

If you ever don’t receive this Greensheet newsletter in your inbox, you’re not alone.

The WordPress system we use for both our website (www.uuathensoh.org) and our Greensheet sometimes stops sending the Greensheet to an email address. We have no clue why. Yes, we’ve asked people to check their spam folders, but the Greensheet emails aren’t there.

If you don’t receive the Greensheet, please let us know. We’ll trick the system by deleting you and then re-adding you. Please know you can ALWAYS read the Greensheet online at http://uuathensoh.org/home/the-greensheet/ AND, if you have a Facebook account, you can see our latest news on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/uuathensoh

YOUR CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE:
UUFA’s STRATEGIC PLANNING

UPDATE: We’re had few people volunteer. If you’re new, this is YOUR chance to help set the direction of the fellowship.

UUFA needs your ideas as we seek to plan out the next five years. Below are the three strategic plan goals the fellowship’s executive committee created, to help guide members and interested parties as we plan for our congregation’s future. If any of the three statements below pique your interest, and you want to be part of the discussion, please contact UUFA president Richard at rthieret at gmail dot com or text him at our area code and 8184775 (hiding the area code and omitting a hyphen in order to confuse robots collecting numbers for telemarketing purposes):

  1. UUFA will increase the use of the building by the community in concordance with UUA’s seven principles.

  2. UUFA will grow the congregation in strength and community.

  3. UUFA will continue to improve its Sunday offerings.
