Dancing With the Devil: Songs and Stories of Love and Loss

Come join our Service on Sunday, March 5th, 11am in person (face masks encouraged) or by Zoom.

Our attraction to beauty, love and convention often obscures the cost which is demanded of us. Is it better to close our eyes and hearts as we waltz through life or do we dare remove the mask to confront the sorrow and tragedies which once glimpsed can never be forgotten?

Patrick McGee, will weave a subtle web of five Celtic love songs and laments on his harp while resurrecting thoughts and stories which sometimes come to those who have much to regret. From the plight of Richard in chains, to Psyche and Eros or Persephone and Orpheus, it is time to once again journey behind the mask and mirror to confront “the Thief of Life.”  Some stories are unfinished.  They remain with us, waiting for the right questions to be asked.

Although the Fellowship provides a link to Zoom, due to Patrick’s tendency to move around and occasionally roar or whisper while telling his tales, it is recommended that you attend in person if possible. Patrick is a retired trial lawyer, who spends his days amusing cats and dancing like Zorba.

FACE MASK NOTE: As of January 14, 2022, the UUFA board moved from a mandatory face mask policy for Sunday Services to a “face masks encouraged” policy. Thank you to all who continue to wear face masks to protect the most vulnerable among us. We provide Zoom access for those unable to attend in person.
