How to Have Less Conflict in Your Conflict by Mac Stricklen

Sunday at 11am we will gather for our regular hybrid service, both in person and on Zoom, with three special additions: (1) a moment to think about Ukraine, by Susan W.; (2) singing Hymn #170, We Are a Gentle Angry People ,with Barb H. on the piano in person, and (3) our main attraction planned before Russia invaded Ukraine, “How to Have Less Conflict in Your Conflict” by OU Ombudsman Mac Stricklen. We hope you’ll join us, whether masked in person, or by Zoom.

By our guest, Mac Stricklen, whose arm and knee appear in the photo with the bicycle:

Mac spends probably too much of his time trying to understand how conflict works and how we can better work through conflict. As OU’s ombudsperson, as a volunteer for Athens Area Mediation Service, and as someone who can sometimes be hard to get along with, he often has a front row seat to real life conflict. He tries to learn from that and share opportunities to share any insights in hopes of helping make conflict a little less stressful and a little more productive.

This will be a hybrid service….by “hybrid service” we mean most of us have choice on how to attend the service. Everyone is welcome to attend via Zoom.If you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you’re welcome to show us your vaccination card and wear a KN95 or N95 mask and attend in person. We encourage all who are able and comfortable to attend in person.
