Parking Lot Gathering!

THIS SUNDAY – PARKING LOT GATHERING!

Sunday, July 12, 2020, 11am   This Sunday we’ll be doing a brief PARKING LOT service outside our UUFA building, 184 Longview Heights, Athens, Ohio.  Please park as directed when you arrive.  Wear a mask if you roll down your car windows or step outside your car.  Remember the building will be closed, so make sure to pee ahead of time. No bathrooms will be available. You’re welcome to bring coffee and a snack for yourself.

Purpose: Simply to be in our space together once again and see each other and our building in 3D. There may be singing, from a distance, of course. Please respect everyone else’s personally preferred social distance (some of us prefer to stay 20′ away from others, even when wearing masks).  Please feel free to drive in for a few minutes, wave, and leave.

ALSO THIS SUNDAY:
DONATIONS FOR OU INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

This Sunday we will carefully accept “contact-less” food and other donations for international students stuck in Athens without incomes or government-approved ability to work.

Also, once our gardens start over producing, UUFA likely will accept an assigned Tuesday for dropping off fresh produce at the bottom of Baker Center for international students, as other congregations in Athens County are doing.

Actually, you can drop off donations any Tuesday morning from 9am-11am at the ground level entrance to Baker Center. Pull up to the Go Bus bus-stop sign, where volunteers will be watching for vehicles and will unload your car, while wearing gloves and masks. If you are donating from your own pantry, please be sure items are unopened, and not outdated.

Items requested by stranded international students (provided by Diana Ray—thanks!):

Please note that Cats Cupboard (the Baker Center free food distribution location on the ground floor) has extremely limited cold storage, and requests shelf-stable items only. Due to health and safety concerns, they are unable to break down bulk packaging, so please select individual- or family-size packaged items only.

Many thanks to Katie and Susan and others for sharing their GA experiences. Below is a PDF of some of the slides that Katie prepared. Editor’s Note: Notice how Unitarian-Universalism is a dynamic religion, able to examine itself and make changes as necessary.
