PROGRAMMING Just a Reminder that we are not having a Sunday service this weekend. Enjoy any and all celebrations you observe for Independence Day! And also read Frederick Douglass’s powerful speech “The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro” (https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part4/4h2927t.html.) Nearly all American holidays carry mixed messages when we shine a light on history. The Programming Committee is making plans for future summer services. Once we start assigning topics and activities to specific dates, we’ll be back with details. So watch this space. As a reminder, we’re offering two services or activities per month for July and August. We will reconvene on September 12 for the In-Gathering Service. If you have any comments or ideas for the Programming team, please get in touch! suusanw.uu@gmail.com THE UUFA BOARD’S NEXT MEETING will be Saturday, July 10th at 10:30am. All members are invited to attend. |
