Our Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens and the Athens Friends Meeting have joined together to co-sponsor a public presentation by the Southeast Ohio Natural Burial Working Group (Cheryl Cesta, StarMary Castro, Natalie Wilson, and Wenda Sheard). This public Zoom presentation titled “Introduction to Natural Burial” will be on Thursday Nov. 19 at 7:00pm. Here’s the description and Zoom information from the Southeast Ohio Natural Burial Working Group’s Facebook Page:
Come learn the history, legality, as well as the emotional, financial, environmental benefits of natural burial. Also, learn about efforts underway in Athens County to connect with township trustees, local cemeteries, funeral directors, death care, and home funeral consultants to revive the practice of natural, old-fashioned burials remembered by some grandparents and great-grandparents alive today. Questions most welcome. We hope to see you on November 19th.
