Native World View – Service in our Grove

THIS SUNDAY September 20, 2020, at 11am in our Grove at 184 Longview Heights Road:

“Some Comments on a Native World View and the Seven Directions Prayer from the Great Lakes”  by Lois Gladchild

In keeping with our 7th Principle, “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part,” Lois will be sharing some aspects of a worldview held by many native people and some of the cultural results of that world view.  She will also address some ways in which those cultural values differ from Anglo dominant cultural values. There will be time for discussion and then she will lead us in a traditional Seven Directions Prayer as one way of connecting with that Interdependent Web of Life.

We will be meeting outside socially distanced in the “Grove.”  All are to wear masks except for the presenter who might not wear a mask while addressing the group.  Please dress for the weather since going inside is not an option. Umbrellas or rain gear will be fine in case of light rain.  You are invited to bring a chair so that we may socially distance into the surrounding woods. Note: Bathrooms will not be available. Service leader: Roberta.
