THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Annual Meeting of the Mount Zion Preservation Society  We are invited to attend the Annual Meeting to support those working to re-establish the black community center that Mount Zion once represented. Dr. Francine Childs poured much money into preserving the building after church services were no longer held there. The Preservation Society has now taken over. This is the second Annual Meeting of the board, and there is much good news to share and lots more to do. It should be both entertaining and informative. The annual membership dues, which will carry you through December 2020, are $25, Lifetime membership is $250, but there is no charge to just come and be a witness to what is going on! We look forward to sharing the progress made in 2019 as well as some exciting news that will help shape our activities in 2020.  ANNUAL MEETING of MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH PRESERVATION SOCIETY Sunday, November 24th,  2:00-4:30 PM Athens Community Center, 701 East State Street    -submitted by Susan W.
