Two Events—New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Morning

NOTE: We’re having TWO events this weekend—-a mask-optional Bardic Drum Circle on New Year’s Eve 7-10pm, and our regular masks-required Sunday morning service on New Year’s Day.

PLANNING YOUR NEXT CHAPTER – Sunday Service New Year’s Day January 1, 2023, 11am

(Please see MASK NOTES below.)
The 4th Thursday in January is National Cheat Day because it’s when New Years resolutions tend to fail. For this service, we’ll reflect on this year, talk about effective goal setting, and then make short-term resolutions we plan to break on or after 1/26. The idea is to find small things we can do now to make our lives a little better later.

MASK NOTES: Our board is still requiring KN95 or N95 masks (NO FABRIC MASKS, and no surgical masks, either) of folks entering the building for Sunday services. We have many folks who truly appreciate us flipping the “usual narrative.” Usually Zoom is for those who are at risk where in-person places are not safe for them. At the fellowship, we’re doing Zoom for anyone who doesn’t want to wear a nk95 or n95 mask thus keeping the fellowship safe for the most vulnerable. We do, however, allow our presenters to unmask when speaking in the front of the fellowship if they wish.

NEW YEAR’S EVE 7pm: BARDIC DRUM CIRCLE

This Event is MASK OPTIONAL.

Come join us on Saturday night, New Year’s Eve, for some fun drumming, dancing, telling stories, and music. It’s a bardic drum circle for all. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks. The Circle starts at 7:00 and ends at 10:00, so it’s family fun as well. Shake a leg or booty and help us pre-welcome in the New Year. No charge but donations are welcome. Your Host: Pat McGee.

THREE PLACES TO RECEIVE OUR NEWS

1. We create our Greensheet newsletter on WordPress, and it then ALWAYS automagically appears on our website, under the Greensheet tab, here: http://uuathensoh.org/home/the-greensheet/

2. If you have a Facebook account—even one you never use—you can read our news and send us messages via our Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/uuathensoh

3. We are currently unable to email the Greensheet via our WordPress account. That’s because we need to install a new “mail plugin” with our WordPress account. The mail plugin we were using is not compatible with our current version of WordPress. Your current Greensheet editor attempted to install a new mail plugin, but that level of technology is WAY above her head. We have a volunteer lined up to fix that issue. (Thank you!)

In a pinch, we can and do email those in our Elvanto church membership software a plain version of our Greensheet….without photos. Not everyone who signed up on WordPress is on our Elvanto list. We’re looking for a volunteer to make sure those two lists match.

Thanks for your patience. REMEMBER—you can always see the Greensheet on our website, and you can always read our news on our Facebook page.

HOW TO SUBMIT ITEMS FOR THIS GREENSHEET NEWSLETTER:

Please email items to wendasheard@yahoo.com and put “Greensheet” in the subject line. New ideas, new columns, announcements, artwork, photographs, biographies, birthdays, anniversaries, and whatnot that you don’t mind being public are all welcome for possible inclusion in the Greensheet. Deadline for each week: Midnight Thursday or before publication, whichever comes last. Thanks!
