UUFA Greensheet

THIS SUNDAY 11am Service  10:30 Coffee

December 9th – Rev. Don Rollins will join us as usual on the second Sunday of every month, with a potluck after the service. Rev. Rollins’ blurb about this Sunday: An Old Story for a New Day, Part 1: It’s important to revisit UU history every now and again. It’s a rich narrative that helps us understand where we’ve been, who we are now, and where we might be headed. Don will lead us in a two-part crash course on our religious tribe.

SUNDAY Religious Explorations for Children  We have some very special Sunday morning events for the children planned in December. New children are always welcome to join us.

Dec 9 – The children will finish working on decorations for our fellowship hall to be installed during our Yule Service next Sunday.
Dec 16 – Intergenerational Yule Service upstairs, with lots of holiday decorating by folks of all ages.
Dec 23 – There is no Sunday morning service today, because we’ll all meet on Christmas Eve instead.
Dec 24 – Christmas Eve Family Service Upstairs
Dec 30 – Looking Ahead to a New Year. The children will think about what they really liked about RE in the past and brainstorm what they would like to do in the coming months.

JOYS AND SORROWS
Our joy this week is our new UUFA SIGN by the entrance to our parking lot. Check it out! Many thanks to all who made it possible.

Our continuing sorrow is the loss of Dr. Frank Myers. Barb and Wenda have Lorraine’s address for those wanting to send a sympathy card. (Your Greensheet editor is reluctant to put full addresses here because our Greensheet is wide open to the public.)

UUFA & THE WIDER COMMUNITY

(A column about how our efforts, our pledges, our building, and our donations support the wider community—submissions welcome.)  Many thanks to members of the Justice Choir for singing for us this past Sunday. The Justice Choir meets on the third Friday evenings of each month at UCM. New members are welcome. Many thanks, too, to Susan Westenbarger for recruiting the Justice Choir to sing for us last Sunday, and for her continuing activism work. Here’s an update from Susan:
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and UU College of Social Justice are both official sponsors of the Love Knows No Borders week of action that I will be participating in next week. Lots of info and ways to support are here:  https://migrantjustice.afsc.org/

THIS SUNDAY!  OUR NEXT BOARD MEETING Our next UUFA Board Meeting will be 10am Sunday, December 9th in the Ploghoft room. All members welcome to attend.
