ZOOM Solstice Service: On Darkness

ZOOM Solstice Service: On Darkness

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will be meeting by Zoom this Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 11am:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82365397153

To start off our service, Brian Richards’ two daughters, now ages 6 and 7, will read to us. After their readings, we’ll read a short article on page 12 in the Fall 2021 UU World magazine, titled “”A Theology of Darkness” by Rev. Kristen L. Harper, and we’ll consider her discussion questions and exercises as a possible way to reframe our understanding of the darkness of winter and its solstice. We’ll end our service with music, and with sharing our intentions for the coming months of darkness, as well as sharing our requests for help to make those intentions a reality.

Rev. Harper’s article is also available here for your viewing ahead of the service or during the service as you wish: https://www.uuworld.org/articles/theology-darkness
