Children’s RE Program

January 7, 2014 by administrator

In December, we learned about the stories and traditions of Hanukkah, Christmas, Winter Solstice, and Kwanzaa, and the cultures that they come from. We did a lot of arts and crafts in December, and had fabulous guests come in: Jessie Roberts for Hanukkah, Paul Patton for Winter Solstice, and Lawrence Greene for Kwanzaa.

In January, we will partake in collaborative art projects, learn about the Chinese New Year and lunar calendar, write our Covenant for 2014 and participate in lots of fun movement exercises. We will also explore the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and discuss how we can aspire to be the best UUs we can in the new year.

Children’s religious education (RE) program meet during Sunday service 10:30-11:30 each week.  All are welcome!

All parents and interested congregation members are encouraged to attend the RE planning meetings held the third Sunday of each month after service 12-1pm. Our next meeting will be January 19th. Any questions please contact Jen Bowman. Thanks!
